Instructor Bio
MICHAEL TABER: is a graduate of San Diego State’s Theater B.A. and BADA’s Shakespeare program. As a working actor, director, writer, 500 RYT yogi, singer/dancer, writer, and teacher, Michael combines his talents to teach an interactive and eclectic approach to acting, writing, movement and telling stories through the ancient practice of theater. Training with The Groundlings, Howard Fine, Laurie & Diane Hull, Lainie Kazan, Larry Gold and Alice Carter, Michael brings a great wealth of knowledge and experience to his creative endeavors. He has had the pleasure of teaching kids and adults for over 15 years and is a Teaching Artist with Segerstrom’s Arts Teach, Laguna Playhouse and AstroTaber’s Arts in Schools. Life is all about being present to the process of discovery and the stories we share along the way. He most recently was honored with a microgrant by the Arts Council for Long Beach to bring his Kid’s Quest for Shakespeare program to the city’s community. Through the program, students engaged in movement, paper art and Shakespeare to create a living story. Michael’s passion and humor invokes the child and wonder of the storyteller in all those he works with. The greatest gift is inspiring others to recognize they have a voice and story to share!
